Plath Inspired Poem

Proven Theory

Waterproof, shatterproof – proof
That you no longer believe in
Death.

Do you believe in the false guarantee
Of a new naked
Nothing?

Sweetie, dissolve the person hooked on your
Thumb a top the rubber roof – let
Him be shut and buried

With stitches for eyes and fire
For smiles. We’re
Missing teeth. We’re

Sorting the closeted suits and empty silver teacups. Come,
Notice living; tickets headaches false paper
People breasts bombs everywhere stop.

Here palpable rhythms permeate
My doll suit. We are
Proof – bulletproof, childproof, oven
Proof.

Sorrow is not gold. It is false.
It is not salty silver glass nor stark
Empty everywhere.

It is, I am a
whole.
