Best known for her pop sensation ‘Royals’, Lorde is a fresh, surprisingly young and effortlessly talented artist. This young New Zealander has proved that she isn’t a one-hit wonder who belongs in the charts. In fact, ‘Pure Heroine’ oozes with elegance and memorable melodies.
Her lyrics are perceptive and refreshingly honest, which is what makes her so appealing, and sets her apart from the crowd. From the outset, the upbeat melancholy of these tracks capture the life of teenagers and young people all over the world. However, the tracks become sadder and more meaningful towards the end, and it almost feels as if she is growing up through the album. Despite this, she is still unapologetically cool, and the type of girl who you wished you were friends in high school. Her alternative and indie persona means she already is the ‘next big thing’.
